Create an event, once or as a series
Choose a playbook and venue, then when it happens: once, every week, on several dates, several days in a row, or a program of events.
- In Hosting → Events choose New event (or Use this playbook on a playbook).
- Choose the Playbook and Venue, and give the Event name and a Description.
- Choose When does it happen? (below). The dates it gives appear as you type.
- Set the Capacity (each date): the form says the range, from the playbook’s smallest group up to its largest or what the venue holds, whichever is fewer. Then choose Who can come: all ages, 18 and over, or 21 and over.
- Add Practical notes (parking, what to bring, how to find you) and choose Create draft.
When it happens
- One time: a date and start time.
- Every week: the days of the week, a start time and an end date up to 26 weeks away. You can add dates later.
- On several dates: two or more dates at the same time.
- Several days in a row: one session each day, up to 31 days.
- A program of events: 2 to 12 named events, each with its own date and time, like a festival’s schedule.
Each date lasts the playbook’s length, starts at your local (Pacific) time, and has its own places. A series has up to 52 dates, one listing on the map, one review and its own page.
Good to know: Who can come is locked once you submit the event, and registration checks each person’s age on the day.
If the venue is too small for the playbook
When a venue is set to hold fewer people than the playbook’s smallest group, the form says so and Create draft stays off. The notice says who can change it and links there: in Hosting → Venues if you proposed or claimed it and nobody manages it, in its Venue Manager under Name & address if you manage it, otherwise ask the venue’s manager or EventBuzza. Or choose another playbook or venue.
The same applies when you edit a draft: its capacity stays within the playbook’s range and what the venue holds.
