Check it, badges, points and levels
Say whether an event is on. Sharing and checking earn badges others see, and points and levels only you see.
Check it
On an event’s page, Check it asks the question for now. Sign in and answer:
- Before it starts: Is it still on? Still on, or Canceled or changed.
- While it’s on: Is it happening now? Happening now, or Not happening.
- For two weeks after: Did it happen? It happened, or It didn’t happen.
You give one answer per event and can change it. The page shows how many members checked it and what most said. You can’t check events you shared yourself.
Badges
- Contributor: 3 flyers, comments or photos of yours on EventBuzza.
- Trusted member: a Contributor whose checks agreed with what happened 10 times, with an account at least 30 days old and nothing taken down by the team or a venue in the last 90 days.
- A day after an event ends, answers are settled: if it was taken off EventBuzza, it didn’t happen; otherwise what most members said counts. A tie counts for nobody.
- Your badge shows on everything you add: beside your name, or instead of “A member” if you keep your name private. A badge goes away if the reasons for it stop being true.
- See yours, and how close you are to the next, in Your progress or Profile.
Points and levels
Your progress shows your points and level. Only you see them, there’s no leaderboard, and levels are a thank-you: they don’t change what you can do.
- A flyer you shared, on EventBuzza: 10 points. An event you listed: 10. A photo on an event: 5. A check that agreed with what happened: 3. A suggested update the team accepted: 5. A comment: 1.
- Each kind counts up to a limit a day (10 flyers, 10 events, 10 photos, 20 checks, 10 accepted suggestions, 10 comments), so steady sharing counts more than a rush.
- Points are for what’s on EventBuzza now: if something is taken down, its points go.
- Ten levels, from Newcomer (0 points) to Hometown hero (2,500).
