Following places, weekly email and alerts
Follow a town or venue to hear about new events there by weekly email or alerts on your device.
- Open a town or venue page and choose Follow, then Get the weekly email (sign in if asked).
- Manage what you follow in Following: Weekly email, Instant alerts and Unfollow for each place. You can follow up to 100 places.
Weekly email
A roundup of the next ten days at the places you follow, on Thursday mornings. It’s on for each place you follow unless you turn it off. To stop it for every place at once, choose Unsubscribe at the end of any weekly email, then Unsubscribe again; you keep following them. If Following says The weekly email starts soon, your choices are saved for when it begins.
News from a venue
A venue with a verified manager can send newsletters. On its page choose Follow, then Get news from the venue, or tick News from this venue in Following. It’s off until you turn it on, for members 18 and over. Every newsletter ends with Stop news from the venue: choose it, then Stop news, with no sign-in needed. You keep following the venue.
Alerts on this device
- In Following choose Turn on alerts and allow notifications, then tick Instant alerts for the places you want. Send a test alert checks it works.
- You’ll hear about newly listed events coming up, at most three alerts a day and never between 9 PM and 8 AM.
- On an iPhone, first add EventBuzza to your Home Screen (see Put EventBuzza on your home screen), then turn on alerts from there.
- Turn off on this device stops alerts on that device.
